UC Webmasters Rout CIT Wildcats

The UC Webmasters are now on top of the standings in the early goings of the 9th CeSAFI season as they notched their 2nd win in as many outings by routing the lowly CIT Wildcats, 94-79. Junmar Fajardo was his usual self scoring 28 points on 14 of 18 free throws, grabbing 9 rebounds and rejecting 5 attempts. Arvin Kim Gomez, Moncrief Rogado, Rommel Luceño and Kevin Juliane provided ample support. Gomez and Rogado finished with 14 markers, Rommel Luceño had 11 points and 8 rebounds while Kevin Juliane dished out 12 assists.

UC Webmasters Welcome Fresh Talents

The UC Webmasters are loading up on tall and talented rookies and their future as a team is looking brighter. A pair of 6'5" rookies from Zamboanga Sibugay are Rani Mark Tano and Pompeo Miranda. UC also signed up a pair of 6'0" Fil-Canadian guards V Franz Bernil and Keith Cayanong. Bernil once played for Vanier College in Canada. Another tall pair of rookies are Kirby Hans Cabrera(6'4", C) from the Centre for International Education and Reynan Capoy(6'3", F). Although not a rookie, Moncrief Rogado(5'11", SG) is now also donning the Webmasters' jersey after he graduated from USPF with a commerce degree.

UC Webmasters Eke Out 75-73 Win Versus UV in Season-Opening Game

Junemar Fajardo outplays Greg Slaughter in their initial duel of the 9th CeSAFI season as he had 19 points and 13 rebounds to Slaughter's 14 points and 4 rebounds as the UC Webmasters eke out a thrilling 75-73 win over the UV Green Lancers in their opening assignment. Mark Tano also had a good debut game for the Webmasters as he finished with 15 points and hit some crucial baskets down the stretch.

Pao To Miss CeSAFI Basketball 2009

Krist Edward Pao, an important part of the UC Webmasters' rotation in the 2008 CeSAFI basketball season will not see action in the 9th CeSAFI basketball tournament pending the resolution of his academic concerns. Pao averaged 13.2 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.4 blocks last season.

Fil-Canadian Guard Keith Cayanong Joins UC Webmasters

Keith Cayanong, a 6'1" Fil-Canadian combo guard who once trained with the USC Warriors has now joined the UC Webmasters camp. His arrival serves good news to UC Webmasters' fans as he can cushion UC's failure to keep juniors standout Marty John Pereabras-Pearce(5'9", guard). Pearce has demanded for his release as he is keen on playing in a UAAP or an NCAA school in Metro Manila.

Cayanong will be a key rookie addition for the Webmasters alongside 6'5" center Pompeo Miranda of Zamboanga Sibugay. UC also acquired former USPF sniper Moncrief Rogado(6'0", guard), who had a good showing in the recently concluded CeSAFI Partners' Cup where UC finished runner-up. Cayanong will be joining a deadly backcourt powered by Janssen Abella(5'11", guard), Raf Gregor Ramos(5'9", guard), Kevin Allen Quilantang(6'2", guard) and Moncrief Rogado(6'0", guard).

UC Webmasters Keeps Fajardo Out of Philippine National Basketball Team

The UC Webmasters have stated through team manager Atty. Baldomero Estenzo that all efforts to lure Junemar Fajardo(6'8" C) to the SBP developmental pool will be futile. UC intends to keep Fajardo so he can focus more on his academic pursuits and allow less of the distraction that comes with being a national pool member. SBP was rumored to have offered Fajardo an allowance of at least PHP 40,000 a month and a clause in the contract that states no school or commercial team can take him away from UC.

UC Webmasters' Junemar Fajardo Leads CeSAFI Basketball Selection in Hong Kong

The CeSAFI Basketball selection that will see action in Hong Kong's Super Kung Sheung Cup on December 16-21, 2008 will be bannered by the UC Webmasters' tower of power Junemar Fajardo(6'9" C) especially with the absence of reigning CeSAFI Basketball Most Valuable Player Gregory Slaughter(6'11" C) who will be playing for the Philippine national basketball team in the ASEAN CBO Men's Basketball Invitation in Pingguo, Guanxi, China on December 17-21, 2008. The CeSAFI Basketball selection will compete against teams from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, India and Southern California.
