Chris Pao and Kevin Quilantang, Ray of Hope for UC Webmasters

Chris Pao and Kevin Quilangtang are American-raised ballers now playing for the University of Cebu Webmasters and their addition cushions the impact of the departure of key players in the Webmasters roster, most notably Allain Abellanosa.

Pao is a 6'3 banger who loves to mix it up down low and provides extra strength to UC's one-man wrecking crew, the 6'7 Junmar Fajardo. Quilantang is a tall 6'2 point guard from Kawit, Cavite.

2 Fil-foreigners Suiting up for the University of Cebu Webmasters

Rumors indicate that 2 Fil-foreigners are suiting up for the University of Cebu Webmasters but information was scarce as UC officials are keeping mum about their prospects to avoid an incident similar to the Greg Slaughter tug-of-war last year. Greg Slaughter practiced with UC and was even introduced to UC president Atty. Augusto Go but later on landed with the University of the Visayas Green Lancers who reportedly offered a princely sum for the 6'11" Fil-am giant. Early reports say that one of the Fil-fors stands at least 6'2".

Junamr Fajardo Trains Hard

Tagged as the next great center to come out of Cebu, Junmar Fajardo is training hard in hopes of improving his game. While he jokes around in scrimmages, he does all drills religiously without a word of complaint. He listens to his coaches, is not difficult to deal with and is well-disciplined.

Prior to team practices, he works with UC assistant coach Caleb Gawangon doing big man drills, shooting drills, and polishing his post skills. Fajardo is really being trained to at least dominate Cebu centers. Junmar Fajardo needs to just that, especially if he does not get any help soon.

Fajardo Needs Help

At the moment, the University of Cebu Webmasters live and die with Junmar Fajardo. They rely on him so much each game that he almost do not rest. Lately, it is rumored that the Webmasters are awaiting the arrival of at least three big men from Mindanao, with one standing at least 6'7. Recently, prospect Simon Cobarrubias turned out to be a dud and has so far quit attending scrimmages.

Webmasters Yield Partners' Cup Title to the Jaguars

Junmar Fajardo was limited to 21 points despite the ejection of Jaguars starting center John Malinao for getting involved in a fistfight with Robert Sting Espinoza who was also thrown out of the game. The Webmasters were within fighting distance until the last 3:45 of the game when they seemed to have given up and what was once a manageable 4-point lead ballooned to as much as 10 points and the Jaguars never looked back from there winning their 15th straight game and capturing their 2nd title in a week, 86-77. Jared Kane Abatayo had 16, Allain Abellanosa had 14 and Janssen Abella had 10 for the Webmasters who have lost 4 straight games to the Jaguars.

Rumors on Fajardo's Academic Woes Surface

Junmar Fajardo is dominating the opposition in the CeSAFI Partners' Cup after missing all of the 7th CeSAFI season. While mocking the opposition recently, it may be sad news to hear that he may not at all be playing in the 8th CeSAFI season after all.

A team insider revealed that injury was not the real reason that made Fajardo miss all of the 7th CeSAFI season. It was true that he had an injury but not something that would have sidelined him for a full year. The source bared that Junmar Fajardo actually has problems in maintaining his grades and academic deficiencies might also force him out of the 8th CeSAFI season.
